Joyas, Spanish for jewels, is the new tableware brand by the Dutch company Maravillas Ceramics. While Maravillas has been delivering handmade stoneware to fine-dining restaurants and culinary enthusiasts in over 22 countries for more than ten years, with Joyas, we are taking a new direction. Industrially produced high-quality stoneware, designed by us in the Netherlands and manufactured in Portugal. Because the original models are crafted by hand in our design studio, Joyas retains the same distinctive organic shapes, elegance, and natural look as the handmade Maravillas pieces — but offered at a more accessible price point.

Over the next two years, we aim to launch four different collections, each consisting of at least four pieces: a dinner plate, a breakfast plate, a deep plate, and a bowl. Each collection can be expanded with additional pieces such as side plates, cups or smaller bowls. All collections will be inspired by themes from nature and will be available in at least two color variations. Our goal is to build a strong brand identity with four themed collections in eight interchangeable colors — creating endless possibilities for table styling and ambiance. The first collections will be inspired by flora and fauna, within the themes of ocean, earth, and forest. Each will feature a combination of matte and glossy glazes that match the tone and feel of the theme. Our first collection, called “Brisa del Mar” (Sea Breeze), is inspired by the ocean. This line features coral-inspired reliefs and is glazed in a shimmering pearl white and deep blue-brown finish.
